Scrooge

Being that it is approaching Christmas and I happen to be in the Holiday Spirit, are you? the Lord put it on my heart to blog about a Christmas Carol movie. Most of us are familiar with the great Christmas Classic by Charles Dickens a film about a man name Scrooge. Ebenezer Scrooge was a cold-hearted, tight fisted, selfish business man, who despised Christmas and all the things that it represented; we all know that this is a time of giving. Scrooge didn’t want any part of this; it wasn’t until after he was visited by the ghost of the past, present and future after seeing the negative outcome of his life he made the change for the better.

Thank GOD for his son JESUS Christ the Scrooges we know have an opportunity to get to know JESUS; the only way they can truly get acquainted with JESUS is through you and me “The Body of Christ” it’s been said that the nearest thing to a church some will venture too is the Christ that lives within you and me. We must live Christ Like before others at all times if we are to change the hearts of stiff neck people, you see when we call ourselves getting even with others it only keeps them in darkness that much more longer and stagnates our growth in Christ.

What a beautiful ending, Scrooge saw that if he did not change his outlook towards others he would die an old miserable man, but with a change of love for one another, charity, and patience he could experience being loved and accepted by others. We can create our own walls of greed, selfishness, pride, boastfulness and thinking I’m better than them only keeps us from being accepted into GODS Family.

I would like to quote a scripture my pastor shared with me it comes from the book of John 9:4 - I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Hello there!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today and for your kind words.

Scrooge - a word in season... This morning as I was driving to work - I was thinking about all the unsaved people in the world. The scripture that was on my mind was "You didn't choose me - but I chose you'. For the gracious God to have chosen me - wow- I still can't get it thru my head. It's a miracle for which I am and will be forever grateful.

You are so right, we are the ambassadors of Christ and could well be the closest a lot of people would come to see Christ in us. May we never forget that thought.

God bless.

Brother Wilson,

As usual your insight into Christian life is very special. You have a talent that let’s you express God’s words and instructions through stories and verses. It is a wonderful feeling I get when reading your thoughts. You have an insight that the average person does not posses. This latest analogy using Scrooge is a perfect example of your talent and wisdom. It is a good reminder for all of us to remember that we have an obligation to educate the unsaved and help them to enter the kingdom. Thanks for the reminder and I will keep in mind my obligation to educate the lost, no matter where I am.

We as christians still have a little scrooge in us. We only want to share the Christmas message with a select group of people. Jesus said He came to seek & to save the Lord. Those that are well need no physcian.

We are scrooges when we still give that same dollar of the past. We are scrooges when we still hold hatred in our heart in the present and we are still scrooges when we won't open our hearts to recieve those that God will send to us in the future.

Awesome post. I am blessed everytime I visit your blog. I love that scripture you added at the bottom of your post too!

It's very important that we are good wittnesses to the World letting our lights so shine so that man can see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. Regardless of how they treat us, we must continue to show the love of God. This fits nicely with my post for today.

Thank you for this post. With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's important that we keep Christ at the center of all of the festivities.

Hello, thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I've visited several Baptist churches and I really like them because they don't pretend to be more than what they are. God bless you.
